Animated Text Generator โ–ถ๏ธ

This animated text generator previews seven motion effects on your own words and hands you the CSS and HTML behind them. Animation is behaviour rather than a character, so there is nothing to copy as plain text โ€” what you can copy is code that animates real, selectable text on a page you control, or a GIF for apps that accept no code at all.

Effects this animated text generator produces

Each preset is a small, self-contained block of CSS animations. Nothing is loaded from a library, so you can paste the snippet into any page and it runs.

How to use the animated text generator

  1. Type your text and pick an effect โ€” the stage above animates immediately.
  2. Copy the full snippet if you want it working in one paste; it contains both the style block and the markup.
  3. Or take the CSS alone and apply the .anim-text class to an element you already have.
  4. For Instagram, TikTok or Discord, use a GIF instead โ€” those apps accept no code.

When you need a GIF instead

Social apps will not run your CSS. If the destination is an Instagram story, a TikTok, a Discord emoji or a forum post, the only animated text that works there is an image. The typing GIF maker on this site renders your words as a real animated GIF, with control over speed, colours and size, and nothing is uploaded to a server.

Animated text generator FAQ

Can animated text be copied and pasted?

No, and no tool can do it. Animation is behaviour, not a character โ€” Unicode encodes which letter something is, never how it moves. So an animated text generator can only give you one of two things: code that animates real text on a page you control, or a moving image. This page does the first; the typing GIF maker does the second.

Where does the CSS snippet work?

Anywhere you can add a stylesheet or a style block: your own site, a landing page, an HTML email template (with caveats โ€” several email clients strip animation), a custom Tumblr or Notion-embedded page, a CodePen. Paste the full snippet, which includes both the style block and the markup, and it will run as-is.

How do I get animated text for Instagram or TikTok?

Those apps accept neither CSS nor HTML, so you need a moving image. Use the typing text GIF maker on this site to render your words as an animated GIF you can upload, or screen-record the preview above.

Why do you wrap each letter for the wave effect?

Because a transform applies to a whole element at once. To make letters rise one after another, each one needs to be its own element with a slightly later animation-delay โ€” the generator does that automatically and staggers them by 0.06 seconds.

Does the animation hurt accessibility?

It can. Motion triggers discomfort and nausea for some people, and blinking text is an old accessibility complaint for good reason. The snippets are plain CSS animations on real text, so the words stay selectable and readable by screen readers โ€” but you should wrap them in a prefers-reduced-motion query so anyone who has asked their system for less motion gets a static version. The preview on this page already does.

Will animated text slow down my page?

Barely, if you keep to transform and opacity as these snippets do โ€” browsers animate those on the compositor without re-laying out the page. Animating width, as the typewriter effect does, is heavier, so use that one on a single heading rather than on a list of twenty.

Is the animated text generator free?

Yes. Every preset and snippet is free to use, with no account and no attribution required.
