Text Effects Generator 🌈 🔥 ▶️

This text effects generator shows four effects on whatever you type — rainbow colour, flame colour, motion and a typewriter reveal — side by side, so you can choose a look before opening the full tool that exports it.

Which Text Effect Works Where

None of these effects can be pasted as plain text, because Unicode has letters but no colour or motion. Each one ships in a format that a particular destination understands, so start from where your words are going.

How to Use the Text Effects Generator

  1. Type a short line. Effects read best on a few words — a name, a heading or a call to action.
  2. Compare the four previews. Rainbow and fire add colour, the wave adds motion, and the typewriter reveals one letter at a time.
  3. Open the effect you like. Each card links to its full generator, where you choose palettes, motion presets, speed and size.
  4. Export the format your destination accepts. Use the table above: markup for pages you control, ansi for Discord, and a PNG or GIF for everywhere else.

Text Effects vs Fancy Fonts

A fancy font swaps each letter for a look-alike Unicode character — 𝒸𝓊𝓇𝓈𝒾𝓋ℯ or 𝔟𝔩𝔞𝔠𝔨𝔩𝔢𝔱𝔱𝔢𝔯 — so the style is part of the text and survives copy and paste into any bio or username. A text effect is layered on top of ordinary letters instead: colour comes from HTML or CSS, motion comes from CSS animation, and anywhere that strips markup gets an image.

The two work well together. Use the fancy font generator when the words have to travel as text, and a text effect when you control the page or can post an image. You can also combine them: convert a word to a Unicode style first, then paste the result into the rainbow tool to colour it.

One thing to keep in mind is accessibility. Gradient text made with CSS background-clip stays selectable and readable by screen readers, while words inside a PNG or GIF are not, so add alt text wherever you post an image of text.

Text Effects Generator FAQ

Can I paste coloured text into an Instagram or TikTok bio?

No. Those fields accept characters but not colour, so the app draws every letter in its own text colour. To show coloured words there, export a PNG from the rainbow or fire tool and post it as an image, or decorate the text with emoji such as 🔥.

Does rainbow text work in Discord?

Yes, through an ansi code block. Discord colours text inside a block that starts with ```ansi, but only from a small fixed palette, so the rainbow tool maps each letter to the nearest colour it has. Desktop and web show the colours; the mobile app renders them in some versions and not others.

Why use a GIF instead of the animated text CSS?

Social apps, chat apps and many email clients will not run CSS animation. A GIF is a picture, so it plays anywhere images are allowed. The CSS route is better on your own site, because the text stays real, selectable and searchable.

Is anything I type uploaded?

No. The previews on this page and the full generators all run in your browser, and the PNG and GIF files are drawn on your own device.

Why is the animated preview not moving?

Your device is set to reduce motion, and the previews respect that. Turn off Reduce Motion on iPhone or Mac, Remove animations on Android, or Animation effects on Windows to see the movement.
